How to become an H-2A Worker

USA Farm Labor collaborates with recruiters worldwide, assisting workers with resume building, reference checks, visa appointments, and booking flights. We also partner with USA Truck Labor to help H-2A farm laborers gain valuable skills focused around operating and maintaining agricultural equipment.

Step 1: Check eligibility

Workers from most countries are eligible to come to the U.S. on an H-2A visa. Only countries with travel bans to the U.S. are excluded from H-2A.

Check your eligibility based on these three categories:

  • Red—Citizens of countries in the Red category are completed banned from entering the U.S. Red countries include Afghanistan, Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen

  • Orange—Citizens of countries in the Orange category face higher scrutiny and are subjected to mandatory in-person interviews in order to receive a via. Orange countries include Eritrea, Haiti, Laos, Myanmar, and South Sudan

  • Yellow—Citizens of countries in the Yellow category are given 60 days to address concerns from the administration or risk being moved to another category. Yellow countries include Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Belarus, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cambodia, Cameroon, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Pakistan, Republic of the Congo, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, East Timor, Turkmenistan, and Vanuatu
